电子邮件作为最常用和最受重视的网络服务,已成为许多组织和商业实体的主要通信手段。因此,对通过电子邮件交换的信息保密的需求增加了。目前,标准的密码技术和格式,如Pretty Good Privacy(PGP)和安全/多用途因特网邮件扩展(S/MIME)被用来保护电子邮件。本文采用一种新的专有对称**加密算法对MS outlook 2010电子邮件客户端发送的电子邮件进行加密。对称**加密和非对称**加密算法都被用来保证消息的机密性。消息使用对称**加密算法加密,该算法需要对称**。对称**也称为会话**,每个对称**只使用一次。加密邮件及其会话**将发送给电子邮件的收件人。会话**必须发送给电子邮件收件人,以便他们知道如何解密邮件。公钥加密算法用于与电子邮件的收件人安全地共享会话**。会话**使用收件人的公钥加密,该公钥只能使用属于收件人的私钥解密。所有必要的API用于将MS Outlook与新的专有对称**加密算法集成,并用于开发确保电子邮件机密性的应用程序。
Email being most used and regarded networkservices, has become the primary means of communication in many organisationsand commercial entities. Hence the need for the confidentiality of theinformation exchanged via email has increased. Presently, standardcryptographic techniques and formats like Pretty Good Privacy(PGP) andSecure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions(S/MIME) are used to protect thee-mail messages. In this thesis, a new proprietary symmetric key encryptionalgorithm is used to encrypt the email messages originated via MS outlook 2010email client. Both symmetric key encryption and asymmetric key encryptionalgorithm is used to ensure confidentiality of the message. The message isencrypted using a symmetric key encryption algorithm, which needs a symmetrickey. The symmetric Key is also called as session key and each symmetric key isused only once. The encrypted message and its session key are sent to the recipientsof the email message. The session key must be sent to the email recipients sothat, they know how to decrypt the message. The public key encryption algorithmis used to securely share the session key with the recipients of the email. Thesession key is encrypted with the recipient’s public key which can be decryptedonly with the private key belonging to the recipient. All the necessary APIs’for integration of the MS Outlook with the new proprietary symmetric keyencryption algorithm is identified and used for developing the application thatensures confidentiality of the email message.
