SPECIFIC AREAS OF INTEREST:

REFSQ 2021 seeks reports of novel ideas and techniques that enhance the quality of RE products and processes, reflections on current research and industrial RE practices, as well as new views on RE. We invite submissions on any aspect of RE. We encourage researchers and practitioners from the RE, software engineering, information systems, service science, embedded systems, and product management fields to present original work. RE methods, tools and processes are expected to support engineering diverse types of systems of different scale and complexity and are applied in diverse domains. As such, contributions from related areas such as systems engineering, economics, and management, providing insights to RE, are welcome.

The special theme of REFSQ 2021 is “Ethics as a cornerstone of Requirements Engineering” to emphasize the importance of human values, such as privacy and fairness, when designing software-intensive systems as well as the challenges that intelligent and autonomous systems pose due to the tight interplay with humans.

The technical track of MSR 2021 solicits high-quality submissions on a wide range of topics related to artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and data science (DS) in one or more of the following three main themes.

1. AI/ML/DS and SE

The analysis should aim to improve understanding of development processes and practices or aid in the development of new techniques or models to support software developers. This includes (but is not limited to) analysis or models for:

software licenses and copyrights,

The techniques, tools, and models should facilitate new ways to mine, analyze, or model software data. A submission could include (but is not limited to) techniques, tools, or models to:

solve SE problems,

improve AI/ML/DS.

3. Considerations related to AI/ML/DS and SE.

These submissions should reflect on the current state-of-the-art research methods or current practices in mining, analyzing, or modeling software data. These submissions can also propose new research methods or guidelines. This theme includes topics such as (but not limited to)

privacy of collected data,

ethics of mining, analyzing, or modelling software data,

biases in software data, analyses, and tools,

ECOOP is a conference about programming. Originally its primary focus was on object orientation, but now it looks at a much broader range of programming topics. Areas of interest include the design, implementation, optimization, analysis, testing, verification, and theory of programs, programming languages, and programming environments. Papers may focus on new tools (e.g., language implementations, program analyses, runtime systems), techniques (e.g., code organization approaches, methodologies), principles (e.g., semantics, proofs, paradigms), evaluations (e.g., experiments, corpora analyses, user studies), or some combination of the above. ECOOP solicits both innovative and creative solutions to real problems as well as evaluations of existing solutions that provide new insights.
